Chapter 1-12 : Selling The Materials Ⅱ (part 1)

I headed for another store with a little anxiety.

This one was a little bigger, and the area around the store was clean, there was no trash at all.

If Master was here, I’m sure she wouldn’t complain.

「Un. This seems promising.」

After seeing how clean the store building was, my mood became a little better, and I entered the store with a lighter step.

「Welcomeー」

When I opened the door, a woman around 40 years old welcomed me.

She greeted me with a gentle smile, so I bowed down and also smiled at her.

「Good afternoon. Would you mind if I take a look around the store?」(Sarasa)

「Yes, please take your time.」(storekeeper)

The products’ lineup wasn’t so different from the first store, but the types of potions were more varied.

There were also slimming medicine and… sunscreen?

Hmm… I wonder if sunscreen will sell in my village.
Because I don’t think there are farmers who are worried about being sunburned.
Since they work outside all the time, I think they’re already used to sunlight.

Well, I might be wrong.
There might be farmers who hate sunlight.
However, applying sunscreen every time they wanted to go to their field would be difficult since it’s not a cheap product.
Originally, sunscreen was a product for rich people after all.

The artifacts sold were hats, shawls, and many other women’s items.
Depending on the function, maybe I can also sell things like these at my store.

However, the problem is how to design and how to get the original items.
There are no craftsmen who specialized in making women’s items after all.

Well, I can still make hats and shawls by myself, but I don’t think they will be good enough to use as primary components.

ーーAlright, I think that’s enough for window shopping.

Let’s talk to the store keeper and see if she is a good person or not.

I approached the counter and took out a jar with the Anger Bear’s heart.

「Excuse me. Would you want to buy this?」(Sarasa)

「Hoo… Anger Bear’s heart, huh? Hmm… It’s fresh and well processed. How about 120,000 reas?」(storekeeper)

「Eh…? Isn’t that too much?」(Sarasa)

It was 20% higher than I expected.

Indeed I don’t want her to buy my materials with a low price, but if the price she offers was way higher than the market price, I can’t help but to be suspicious of this store keeper.

「It’s really hard to get this kind of material these days, so I think it’s a fair price. By the way, are you an alchemist?」

「I see… And yes, I’m an alchemist from Yok Village.」(Sarasa)

「Yok?」(storekeeper)

「If I said, “a village near the Great Sea of Trees”, would you understand?」(Sarasa)

「Ah! So you’re from that village!? Ojou-chan, you’re a lifesaver, you know?」(storekeeper)

「Eh? What do you mean?」(Sarasa)

「Since the old man closed his store, I had trouble getting this kinds of good materials.」(storekeeper)

「The old man? Ah, the previous owner of my store? I see. So that’s also a reason why the price is high?」(Sarasa)

「Yes. We are short on good materials here. Moreover, this Anger Bear’s heart is really fresh. You must have processed it as soon as it was killed, right? Getting materials this good is hard, you know?」(storekeeper)

Certainly, there aren’t many opportunities to get an Anger Bear’s heart with this quality.

It was thanks to Andre-san finding the bear near the village.

「You’re still young but very skilled. I’m impressed. By the way, where were you trained?」(storekeeper)

「Umm… I used to work part-time at Ophelia Millis’ store. She’s my master.」(Sarasa)

I feel like it’s been a really long time since the last time I said Master’s name.

Hearing the name, the storekeeper made a surprised look with her eyes wide open.

「Ehh!? Ophelia Millis!? That legendary Ophelia-sama!?」(storekeeper)

「Legendary? M, Maybe? She is a master-class alchemist.」(Sarasa)

「Oh my god…! But… why is Ophelia-sama’s disciple opening a store in such remote area?」(storekeeper)

She’s being skeptical now…
I’m not lying, okay?

Normally, after graduating from school, we would train at someone’s store for a while before opening our own store.
But I feel like it will be troublesome if I tell her, “I opened a store right after graduating”, so let’s be careful and not tell her unnecessary things.

「W, Well, my master sent me to open a store here so that I could send her rare materials. She also told me the area near the Great Sea of Trees is a good place to train…」(Sarasa)

「Heeー Being a disciple of a master-class alchemist seems pretty tough.」(storekeeper)

Saying that, the storekeeper smiled bitterly.

Perhaps, I made it sound as if Master had thrown me away to this remote area.

「Ah, I also kinda wanted to train here, so…」(Sarasa)

「Is that so? I see… You’re still young, but very ambitious! Un! I’m starting to like you.」(storekeeper)

「A, Ahaha… Thank you.」(Sarasa)

Well, I never thought I would have a store in this remote area, though.

「I’m Leonora, this store’s owner. And you?」(storekeeper)

「I’m Sarasa, the current owner of the alchemist store in Yok Village. I hope we will become good business partners.」(Sarasa)

「Me too. If a skilled alchemist like Sarasa takes over the old man’s store, maybe the number of Collectors in your village will increase.」(Leonora)

「Ahaha. I hope so.」(Sarasa)

There were many materials that needed to be processed by an alchemist immediately after they were collected, otherwise the quality would drop significantly.

Since the previous owner of my store left the village, the Collectors had no choice but to transport their materials to this town.
However, it took several days to reach this town, and of course, it would affect the quality of the materials.

Therefore, many Collectors have left the village to look for another place with an alchemy store nearby.

「Managing a store may be a little difficult at first, but I’m sure you’ll be fine. Ahh… I remember when I opened a store for the first time, I had serious financial problems. Sarasa, if you have any problems, you can talk to me. I’ll help you as much as possible.」(Leonora)

「Thank you very much!」(Sarasa)

「Well, I think you’ll be just fine since you’re skillful enough to process this heart. Oh, right. If you have an Anger Bear’s heart, you also have other parts, right?」(Leonora)

「Yup. Wait a sec.」(Sarasa)

Aside from Anger Bear’s materials, I also took out other materials I brought, and lined them up on the counter.

As I lined them up, Leonora-san picked them and examined them one by one.

「Why is there only one eye?」(Leonora)

「Ahh, because it was shot in the eye.」(Sarasa)

「I see… Un. You have processed them really well. They’re all in good condition…. By the way, your backpack is an artifact, isn’t it?」(Leonora)

「Yes. My master made it for me.」(Sarasa)

This is my favorite gift from Master.
Of course, I’ll never sell it.

「Heeー Ophelia-sama’s hand made artifact, huh? That’s a very high grade artifact. As expected of a master-class alchemist….. So, you wanna sell all of these materials?」(Leonora)

「Yes. Also, there are some materials I would like to purchase.」(Sarasa)

As I read out the memo I took out from my pocket, Leonora-san picked the materials from the shelves and lined them up on the counter.

It seems she has all the materials I need.
Well, as expected from a town alchemy store.

After calculating the difference between the price of the materials I sold and the materials I bought, I had 380,000 surplus.

The Anger Bear materials were unexpectedly sold at a very high price.
