Chapter 321 : Capital’s Adventurer Guild

 

After passing through the flower garden and walking for a while, we saw many big buildings such as guard posts, a military training center, and horse stables.

We’re still in the castle’s yard, but it looks like a small town here thanks to these buildings.

By the way, we decided to head to the adventurer guild on foot instead of riding a carriage.

The castle was located in the center of the city, as was the adventurer guild, so it wasn’t that far from here.

After passing through the castle gate, the main street that stretched through the center of the capital finally came into view.

I was excited to see the city, but the most excited person among us was Ester.

She pointed at the shops on the side of the road with her eyes sparkling like always.

Liane, who was walking next to Maya, couldn’t help but smile when she saw how excited Ester was.

She glanced at me, asking for help.

「Umm, Liane-sama, elves and half-elves are rare outside her village, so she hides her ears to avoid being stared at by other people. She doesn’t have many friends in her village, so she is not that good at socializing and is a bit shy after all.」(Mark)

Ester puffed her cheeks and pouted at me.

She looks cute.

Meanwhile, Liane smiled brightly at Ester without turning her eyes to me even for a split second even though I was the one who answered her question in Ester’s stead.

After walking down the main street for about fifteen minutes, we could see a large three-story stone building ahead.

I immediately could tell that it was an adventurer guild thanks to the huge familiar-looking signboard on its wall.

Ester was looking at it from top to bottom with sparkling eyes as soon as we stood in front of the building.

「Wow! Is this the adventurer guild in this city?」(Ester)

「Yup. I’ve been here a few times. It’s big isn’t it?」(Celine)

「It’s even bigger than the huge inn I saw earlier! This is awesome!」(Ester)

「Well, it’s the biggest adventurer guild in this territory after all. Let’s get inside.」(Celine)

After passing through the double door, we were greeted by the magnificent interior of the building.

It was much bigger and much cleaner than the other adventurer guilds I’ve visited.

It even had fancy-looking magic lamps on the walls, and paintings and plants as decorations.

It looked more like a fine government office than an adventurer guild.

As expected from the adventurer guild in the most prosperous place in the territory.

As soon as we entered the guild, I felt gazes from every direction.

「Oi, look who’s back!」
「Isn’t that Celine?」
「I thought she was a solo adventurer. Why is she in a party now?」
「You call that an adventurer party? They’re mostly kids.」
「Don’t tell me… They are her children!?」

I could somewhat hear the adventurers around us talking about Celine.

She seemed to be famous around here. Well, I know the reason why…

Ignoring the other adventurers, Celine took us to the reception desk.

「Welcome. How can I help you?」(receptionist)

As soon as the female receptionist in a formal suit greeted us, Celine took out her guild card from her Item Box a.k.a cleavage purse, and handed it to the receptionist.

「I would like to sell some monster materials.」(Celine)

When the receptionist read Celine’s card, she frowned for a moment for some reason.

「Miss Celine, a C-ranked adventurer, is it? Please wait for a moment.」(receptionist)

She then asked us to wait and went to the back of the guild.

A while later, she came back and took us to a room on the second floor.

It was a simple room with a large, sturdy-looking iron table in the center that was probably used to place monster materials.

There was a middle-aged man behind the table who seemed to be the staff who would appraise the monster materials.

However, just when I was about to take out the materials from my Item Box, the man looked at Celine and smiled.

「Celine, it’s been a while.」(man)
