Chapter 1-17 : For The Sake Of Seafood
It’s Monday, which means most people go to school or work today, including me.
To be frank, I want to put on my VR headgear, lie down on my bed, and play NWO all day, but of course, I have to do my duty as a college student.
I woke up in the morning, had a quick breakfast, and went to the campus as usual.
After attending classes in the first and second periods, I joined Shougo and Suzu in the cafeteria.
「So sleepy…」(Shougo)
「Me too…」(Arisa)
「「Fwaaaaaaaaaahh~ *yawn」」(Arisa & Shougo)
After putting our lunch on the table, Shougo and I yawned at the same time.
「Those were big yawns… What time did you guys go to sleep last night?」(Suzu)
「Not sure, but it was past one o’clock when I logged out.」(Shougo)
「Same. I went to bed at two o’clock.」(Arisa)
「Hahh… I know the game’s fun, but you guys should get more sleep!」(Suzu)
「「Aye, Ma’am…」」(Arisa & Shougo)
「Especially you, Arisa! Look at those bags under your eyes! They ruin your cute face!」(Suzu)
「Ahaha… I’m sorry.」(Arisa)
By the way, your body is lying on the bed while you’re playing the game, but it doesn’t mean that you are sleeping.
Your brain keeps working while you’re playing, which means that your mind is ‘awake’ unlike when you’re dreaming.
That’s why you need to get some rest after playing for a few hours, but I haven’t had enough sleep lately because the game’s so fun.
「Here. Have some fruits. Open your mouth. Train’s coming~」(Suzu)

Suzu stabbed a small piece of apple in the fruit salad she ordered with a fork and put it in my mouth.
「Geez. Are you a toddler or something?」(Shougo)
「Hehe~ Are you jealous~?」(Arisa)
「Sorry, Shougo, but I don’t feed anyone other than Arisa. Here comes another one~」(Suzu)
「Aaaaaaan~」(Arisa)
「Hahh… When did I ever ask you to feed me? By the way, have you guys heard about the portals?」(Shougo)
I think most people who play games, especially RPGs, know what a portal is. It’s an in-game facility that lets you teleport to another place.
「Portals? Which one?」(Suzu)
「I heard that the portal in the northern town has been unlocked. A party of experienced MMORPG players managed to get there a few days ago.」(Shougo)
The northern town, huh? If my memory serves me right, I saw people comment about the party that went north on the in-game forum the other day. They must have been talking about them.
They said it would take them a few days to get there from Erst Town. Although the time flows much faster inside the game, a few days in-game is not a short amount of time.
However, seems like we no longer have to worry about that because we can use the portal to get there now.
「That’s great. It’ll make traveling to the north much easier and safer. How about the southern area? I heard the road there is still blocked by a huge swarm of wolf-type monsters.」(Suzu)
「No, from what I’ve read on the in-game forum, the road is open now. A raid led by a clan called Silver Wing Brigade defeated those monsters including the boss a couple of days ago.」(Shougo)
「I see. We can now go to the south then.」(Suzu)
「Yup.」(Shougo)
「Silver Wing Brigade…?」(Arisa)
I was listening to Shougo and Suzu silently, but what Shougo just said piqued my interest.
「Yeah, it’s a clan. We can make a clan now. Apparently, first, you have to form a party and then complete quests and take on some kind of challenges from the guild multiple times. After that, you will get a clan badge, the item needed to make a clan.」(Shougo)
「I see, but… no, that’s not what I was asking.」(Arisa)
「Hmm…?」(Shougo)
「They didn’t tell me the name of their clan, but I think that clan, the Silver Wing Brigade, is theirs.」(Arisa)
「Theirs? Who are you talking about?」(Shougo)
「The Leader, the Captain, and Eclair-san.」(Arisa)
「Uhh… Who?」(Shougo)
「The people who made that clan, I guess.」(Arisa)
「Hold on… Arisa, you know the people from the Silver Wing Brigade!?」(Shougo)
Shougo looked really surprised for some reason.
After watching how they fought, I noticed that they were not average players, but… It seems that they’re much more famous than I thought.
「Well, I participated in the raid the other day, so…」(Arisa)
「Say what? How?」(Shougo)
「They were recruiting people for the raid on the forum. I saw it, and then I joined. It’s that simple.」(Arisa)
「Really!? How could I miss it!?」(Shougo)
「Hey, Shougo, you had to attend a make-up class the other day, remember?」(Suzu)
Shougo looks confused, but it seems like Suzu knows the reason why he missed it.
「Gaaaaahh!! You’re right! If it wasn’t for that damn class I could have participated in the raid!」(Shougo)
「Hahh… Shougo, it’s not that I don’t understand your feelings, but you have to remember who you are. Are you a college student or a gamer?」(Suzu)
「A gamer, obviously.」(Shougo)
When Suzu asked that, Shougo answered promptly and smiled proudly at her.
「I feel stupid for asking…」(Suzu)
「Fufu.」(Arisa)
I couldn’t help but giggle watching these two.
「So, Arisa, how was the raid?」(Shougo)
「It was fun. We split into three squads. I was in the third squad as a frontline attacker.」(Arisa)
「Wait… That means you kill the monsters, right? Did the other people say anything when they saw the corpse of the monsters you kill remain in place?」(Shougo)
「They looked confused, of course, especially the warrior guy. I told them it was my special skill, but they didn’t ask further about it.」(Arisa)
「I see. Most special skills in this game are secrets, so they probably respect that and decide not to ask.」(Shougo)
「You may be right. Anyway, after we completed our mission, the vice-leader, Eclair-san, asked me if I wanted to join their clan.」(Arisa)
「They were recruiting you? I heard they only recruit strong players into their clan. They must have seen your potential. So? What was your answer?」(Shougo)
「I said I would think about it… I wasn’t sure, but… I don’t know. I don’t think I will join.」(Arisa)
「I see. Well, it’s up to you.」(Shougo)
I might be able to communicate with other people without problems sometimes, but I’m an introvert by nature. I’m not sure if I want to join a clan.
「Anyway, I can think about joining the clan later. More importantly, we can now go to the south! Do you guys know what it means?」(Arisa)
「Umm… We can go to the beach?」(Suzu)
「We can hunt sea creatures?」(Shougo)
「No, no, no. You guys don’t understand. It means that we can eat seafood!」(Arisa)
「Ahh…」(Suzu)
「Right…」(Shougo)
「Oh, come on, guys. Doesn’t it sound exciting to you? Aahh~ I can’t wait to eat seafood as much as I want inside the game!」(Arisa)
「Arisa, did you… participate in the raid just because you want to eat seafood?」(Shougo)
「Of course!」(Arisa)
「This girl…」(Shougo)
