Chapter 1-12 : Innocent Hunter (part 2)

 

We left the town and went to the forest.

We proceeded in a formation as soon as we entered the forest.

Gaul was a front-liner who had the highest defense among us. He was walking at the front.

Rin, Leone, and Kururu were spellcasters. They were in the safest position in the formation which was the center.

Shougo and Shuu were walking on each side, surrounding the three spell casters.

And since I could use【Perception】to detect enemies, I was walking behind everyone else in the party in case monsters attacked us from behind.

After walking through the forest for a while, we spotted three Erst Wolves about twenty meters ahead of us.

「Keep your head down, guys. Seems like they haven’t noticed us.」(Shougo)

We crouched down, hiding behind trees and bushes.

「So, how are we gonna deal with them?」(Gaul)

「Should we attack them with magic first?」(Leone)

「That’s a good idea. Rin, Leone, and Kururu will shoot each of them with magic. While they’re confused, Alice, Shuu, and I will charge forward and fight them. Alice, you deal with the one on the left. Shuu, you kill the one on the right. I will take care of the one in the middle. Gaul, you stay here and protect the three in case other monsters attack.」(Shougo)

We silently nodded at Shougo in response.

After that, Rin, Leone, and Kururu readied their magic staffs.

「Alright, ready? …Now!」(Shougo)

「【Fireball】!」(Leone)

「【Thunder Bolt】!」(Rin)

「【Water Blast】!」(Kururu)

The three spellcasters shot their spells at the wolves.

「Alice, Shuu, with me!」(Shougo)

「Ou!」(Shuu)

「Aye, sir!」(Alice)

As soon as the spells hit the wolves, the three of us dashed forward.

ーBut…

「Whoa! Alice-san!? She’s too fast!」(Shuu)

「Dang! She must have more points on AGI than us. Alice, be careful!」(Shougo)

「Don’t worry about me!」(Alice)

Shougo and Shuu were much slower than me. It seemed that my AGI was higher than theirs thanks to my【AGI Boost】skill.

I didn’t want to miss this chance, so I kept going.

As soon as I activated my【Sever】skill, I could see red lines all over the wolves’ bodies.

I was aiming for the wolf on the left. Before it regained its balance after receiving a Fireball from Leone, I swung my wakizashi and hit the red line on its neck.

ーSLASH!

Right after, its head separated from its body and spurted out blood all over the place.

「Huh!?」(Shuu)

「Oi, oi!」(Shougo)

GRRRRR!!

Right after I killed it, two of its friends regained their balance and dashed toward me, trying to avenge their friend.

「Alice, watch out!」(Shougo)

One of them jumped toward me, but I didn’t back off. Instead, I dashed forward and lowered my body so I could swing my wakizashi upward and hit the red line on its torso.

ーSLASH!

As soon as its body was split in two in the air, the rain of blood poured down over my body.

Meanwhile, the last wolf kept running toward me and opened its mouth.

As if it learned from its friend’s mistake, it didn’t jump but lowered its head instead. It seemed to aim for my thigh.

However, before its teeth reached my thigh, I quickly moved my foot and kicked its jaw upward with a rising kick.

「Hyaa!」(Alice)

While its body was in a vertical position in the air, I swiftly swung my wakizashi and hit the red line on its torso as well, cutting it in half like its friend.

Now my clothes are all red because of the blood.

「Phew… I killed them but… Aa-aah… I have to go to the public bath again after this…」(Alice)

「A… Alice-san… You…」(Shuu)

「Unbelievable… She killed all of them by herself…」(Shougo)

The moment I killed the last wolf, Shougo and Shuu arrived.

They stopped running and looked at me with their mouths wide open for some reason.

「Ah, Shougo, Shuu-san, good work!」(Alice)

「G, good work!? We didn’t even do anything!」(Shuu)

「Yeah. You killed our prey too.」(Shougo)

「Aa… Ahaha… I’m sorry.」(Alice)

「But, Alice-san, you’re amazing!」(Shuu)

「Alice, you really surprised us.」(Shougo)

They looked very surprised. Honestly, I don’t know what’s amazing about killing three wolves. I can do this all day if I want.

While we were talking, the four members who were in hiding approached us.

「Sheeshh… It’s hard to believe that she killed those wolves in a few seconds by herself… Shougo, who in the world is she?」(Gaul)

「I told you. She’s my childhood friend.」(Shougo)

「That’s not what I mean!」(Gaul)

「Haha… I know what you mean, but I’m not sure either how did she do that.」(Shougo)

「Well, she’s full of surprise after all. Say, Alice, we’ve known each other for a long time and you’ve surprised me so many times, but I didn’t know you were very strong.」(Rin)

「Am I?」(Alice)

「Hahh… That’s Alice for you.」(Rin)

Rin sighed and shook her head.

「Anyway, you did a great job! I want to pat your head, but I don’t want to touch that blood.」(Rin)

「Uuu…..」(Alice)

I showered in the wolves’ blood, so the blood covered my entire body from the top of my head to the tip of my toe.

Damn wolves! It’s their fault I missed a pat from Rin!

「Kyaa~!! Not only is she cute but she’s also strong! I fell in love with her even more!」(Leone)

「I told you to stop… being creepy… hmph!」(Kururu)

Kururu, who was standing behind the others, didn’t look well for some reason. Her face looked pale.

She was holding her mouth with her hands as if she was holding back vomit.

「Kururu-san, are you okay?」(Alice)

「ー!!」(Kururu)

I was worried about her, so I approached her, but she quickly stretched her hand toward me, telling me to stay away.

「I’m sorry, Alice-san… Please don’t come near me… I’m fiー Hmmphh!!」(Kururu)

「Alice-chan, don’t mind her. She just can’t stand blood.」(Leone)

「I, I see… I better stay away then…」(Alice)

「Normally, girls would react like Kururu.」(Shougo)

「Yeah, but not just girls. Even for a man like me, I think it’s too… grotesque…」(Gaul)

「Agree…」(Shuu)

Everyone except Kururu looked at the corpses of the wolves and then they turned their gazes to me.

They then shrugged their shoulders.

「Well, I think Alice is special.」(Shougo)

「Yup. She’s special.」(Rin)

「Hm? What are you guys talking about?」(Alice)

「「Nothing…」」(everyone)

「Hmm…?」(Alice)

I couldn’t help but tilt my head in confusion.
