Chapter 4-41 : Talent Identifying Magic (part 4)
(Talent, huh…? I wonder what exactly ‘talent’ is…)
While thinking about what talent actually was, Mylia started circulating her magical power.
(I think talent is something like special abilities or unique skills that people have. Some people have it since they were born, but some have to work hard to get it. Because it’s unique to each person, talent seems to have something to do with human brain. If I can somehow read people’s brain waves, I might be able to tell their hidden abilities.)
With that in mind, Mylia focused her magical power in her eyes and strongly imagined her eyes becoming a scanner that could identify people’s talents through their brain waves.
Feeling the huge magical energy coming from Mylia, Leaf stopped eating the World Tree leaf she was holding and turned to Mylia.
「Mylia onee-chan, what are you doing?」(Leaf)
「Hold on. Let me concentrate.」(Mylia)
The spell Mylia was trying to create was an appraiser-type spell, but because the object was human, specifically, human brain waves, she would need a strong imagination and a huge amount of magical power.
Leaf seemed to be curious, but Mylia decided to ignore her and kept concentrating for now.
After a few minutes of imagining and concentrating her magical power in her eyes, the spell was complete.
(It’s done! Alright, it’s time to put it into practice. Talent Identifying Magic, activate!)
Upon activating her new spell, Mylia’s eyes sparkled in rainbow color.
She was now able to see something like auras above people’s heads, and somehow, she could tell their talents just by looking at them.
「Whoa… I see…」(Mylia)
「M, Mylia!? What’s wrong with your eyes!?」(Chloe)
Chloe was surprised when she saw Mylia’s eyes glowing in rainbow colors.
「Hehe, don’t worry Onee-chan. I just created an awesome spell that might help you.」(Mylia)
「What do you mean…?」(Chloe)
「You will see~」(Mylia)
Mylia replied to her sister with a grin.
(Since we still need to finish that huge cathedral and build hundreds of other buildings in this town, we need more carpenters and builders who are good at construction work. I feel like it would be a loss if those people did a completely different job. Let’s see if I can find one…)
While thinking about that, Mylia started looking around at the people who were lining up in front of the reception desks with her rainbow eyes.
(Someone with carpentry talent… Someone with carpentry talent… Oh, I found one!)
Someone who was in the line, waiting for his turn to register, caught Mylia’s attention.
Mylia then got up from her seat and approached him.
He was a young man with a well-built body, but he somewhat looked weak-willed and lacked confidence.
Being stared at by Mylia, the young man looked down at her nervously.
「M, Mylia-sama…? C, Can I help you…?」(young man)
「I want to ask you a question.」(Mylia)
「A question…? U, Understood… I will answer as best as I can.」(young man)
The young man was wondering why Mylia’s eyes were glowing in rainbow colors, but he wouldn’t dare to ask and decided to just reply to Mylia.
「Have you decided what kind of work you want to do in the future?」(Mylia)
「Eh…?」(young man)
The young man was a bit surprised at the question. He thought that Mylia would throw him out of town if he didn’t get a job.
Her luxury dress and tiara she was wearing made the young man feel under pressure even more.
「L, Lady Mylia, I don’t know what I can do but I promise you I will get a job and work for the sake of this city! So, please don’t kick me out of your town!」(young man)
「Huh? Relax, I won’t do that. If you still haven’t decided what to do, then I suggest you work as a carpenter.」(Mylia)
「…A carpenter?」(young man)
「Yes. We need a lot more people who are good at construction work, and you have a talent for that although you might not realize it.」(Mylia)
「Umm… I once helped my neighbors build a small hut in my village, and they said that I did well, but…」(young man)
「That’s it! You have a talent for carpentry! Please think about it. Well then, see you later.」(Mylia)
「Understood…」(young man)
After that, Mylia approached another man with carpentry talent and recommended him to work as a construction craftsman as well.
She did it again and again to about fifty people and returned to her barbarian chair.
She took a seat and deactivated her Talent Identifying Magic. Her eyes returned to their usual dark purple color as she deactivated it.
「Mylia, what did you talk to them about?」(Chloe)
「Hehe~ Onee-chan, we are going to get more talented people working at the construction sites in the future!」(Mylia)
「Eh? What do you mean?」(Chloe)
「I created a spell that allows me to identify someone’s talents. Those people have the aptitude for carpentry, and I recommended them to work as carpenters to help us develop this town.」(Mylia)
「Really!? What an amazing spell! Let’s put it to good use later! It’s very useful for securing human resources!」(Chloe)
Chloe looked so excited.
She took a notebook from her pocket and started writing down something.
Meanwhile, Leaf, who was not interested in that kind of spell, continued eating World Tree leaves.
「Oh, right! I have to look for people who have cooking talent too!」(Mylia)
「Fufu. I knew you would say that. But don’t forget other talents. We still need workers who can work in the office, farmers who can raise livestock and take care of the farms to secure food, and soldiers to keep the peace of this town. That’s right! Mylia, let’s call the people who have finished the registration one by one and recommend them jobs based on their talents!」(Chloe)
「Alright. I have nothing to do anyway. Sitting in this weird chair doing nothing is boring.」(Mylia)
After Mylia replied to her with a nod, Chloe stood up from her chair and made an announcement.
「Everyone, can I have your attention for a moment, please? Those who finished the registration, please come to us immediately. Thank you.」(Chloe)
After that, people started coming to Mylia and Chloe.
Mylia would identify their talents, and then Chloe would recommend the jobs that fit them.
「Whoa, Mylia-sama can tell our talents by just looking at us.」
「As expected from Lady Mylia’s keen eyes! ーNo. Rainbow eyes…?」
「She really cares about the future of her people.」
「This makes me want to try my best so that she will praise me!」
「Haha! Who doesn’t want to be praised by a cute and wise feudal lord?」(immigrants)
Seeing what was going on, the people started making noises.
Mylia just wanted to secure human resources to help her older sister, but the immigrants seemed to be impressed by her action.
〇〇〇
Three hours had passed, and most of the immigrants had been registered.
It was Mylia’s usual snack time, so she was a bit hungry.
She was thinking of eating a skewered grilled Dabola meat, but before she could take it from her magic bag, she heard someone yelling from the crowd.
「This town! ーThis territory is over! You all are gonna die today! You hear me!? You all are gonna DIE!」(Aaron)
It was Aaron.
He came to the venue and shouted like a madman.
People spontaneously turned their gazes at him as soon as they heard his loud, annoying voice.
「What’s wrong with him?」
「Beats me.」
「He must be one of the people with criminal records.」
「I see. He’s gone crazy because the knights decided to kick him out.」(immigrants)
The immigrants who didn’t know who he was looked at him with puzzled and disgusted faces.
Only Mylia, Chloe, Bonnie, and the townspeople knew him.
Two weeks ago, he did the same thing, shouting at people, saying they would all die. However, there’s a difference from before.
This time, he was holding a weird stone in his hand.

oh finally the peak of this volume, i guess?
God I hope so! Can’t believe I’m excited for a supposed tragedy but the author has held back on us long enough and we all know Mylia-Chan has everything covered so nothing disastrous is gonna happen but I just can’t wait for that Ba**ard Aaron to hopefully get his head on the chopping block hopefully right beside whatever noble set this up. And maybe then we can get back to the Happy Fun Times of the sister’s!
