Chapter 2-22 : Family Meeting (part 1)
ーBack to Kako’s perspectiveー
「Suuu… Hahhh…」(Kako)
It’s been two weeks since Count Oglan and Keemariq Bandits were captured.
A huge army of Royal Knights has been dispatched from the royal capital to investigate this matter with the cooperation of the Kushaq Family. They discovered that some of the stolen weapons belonged to nobles and immediately returned them to their rightful owners. Of course, the weapons stolen from Sheila’s village have also been returned.
As for Count Oglan, he was stripped of his noble title. His entire property was confiscated by the country and his region would be ruled by the local government for the time being until they appoint another nobleman to govern it.

After eating an afternoon snack with Nyat, I soaked myself in the hot bath for thirty minutes and then took a nap for a while in my room.
The sun went down, and it was time for dinner.
I went to the dining room and found Father, Mother, and Maitena onee-sama already sitting on their seats.
I also saw Nyat sitting on the chair next to mine. Most of the time he eats in the pantry with the servants, but he sometimes joins us to have dinner, so it’s not rare to see him here.
However, there was another familiar face that I never expected I would see here.
「Hello there, Kako ojou-sanー No, ojou-sama.」(Izack)

Father forbade him to step foot in this mansion, but now he’s sitting with him at the same table.

After we finished eating, Father cleared his throat and began talking.

Family meeting? Seems like we’re going to discuss something important. I wonder what’s happening.
「At first, I was going to talk about one thing, but now I have two things to talk about because of Kako.」(Elvent)
「M, me?」(Kako)

I’m so confused… What in the world are they talking about?
「Kako, please answer honestly. Why do you want to leave this family?」(Elvent)
「Aa… How did youー」(Kako)
Now I understand why they all look sad, but… I don’t remember I told them that.
I turned to Nyat and glared at him.
「Nyat, did you tell them?」(Kako)
「I didn’t-nya!」(Nyat)
「Reeeeally?」(Kako)
「I swear I didn’t-nya! But…」(Nyat)
「But?」(Kako)
「When we talked about that, I remember I smelled Thea nearby-nya.」(Nyat)
「Thea?」(Kako)
Noticing that her name was mentioned, Thea, who had been silently standing by the wall, stepped forward and approached our table.

I did say that, but leaving this family was just thoughts that sometimes crossed my mind. I never really think seriously about that.
Now everyone is looking at me with sad faces…
