Chapter 2-16 : Experimenting With Magic Weapons (part 2)
Thanks to Nyat’s sharp sense of smell we could avoid contact with the people in the mansion and got out through the back gate without anyone realizing.
We left the city and went to the nearby forest. We stopped when we found an open area with a small river.
「I think this place will do. I can test my weapons safely here.」(Kako)
「Well then, you have fun-nya. I’m going to patrol around here and hunt down monsters nearby-nya.」(Nyat)
「Alright.」(Kako)
「Don’t wander too far from here, you hear me-nya?」(Nyat)
「I know. I’m not a child.」(Kako)
After Nyat left, I took out the magic weapons from my magic bag and lined them on the ground.

But before that, I want to test first.
Arcel briefly explained how they work before I left his house, but I want to test them myself.
I took the sword with water magic and activated it. Right after, water started dripping from its blade.

Magic weapons Arcel made are all of poor quality, and as a matter of course this one can only produce a small amount of water.
A decent water magic sword can surely produce much more water. The high-quality one could probably cancel out fire magic or even kill fire-element monsters like salamanders or something.
Next, I took a sword enhanced with ice magic and activated it. The blade was then covered in vapor.
I tried to touch it gently with my other hand. It was as cold as ice.

This poor-quality weapon is weak, but a high-quality ice magic weapon could probably freeze your enemies as you slice through them with the blade.

Water and ice have a similar nature, so they are less likely to blow up when I merge them together. I think it will be safe.

I put the glacio sword away and took another magic weapon.

I’ve only synthesized magic weapons with similar attributes so far. This time, I want to try combining the ones with completely different attributes and abilities.
I still have magic weapons enhanced with wind magic, earth magic, explosion magic, and light magic.
I think synthesizing explosion magic weapons is too risky. I have a feeling it will blow up and burn the entire forest.
For now, I think I’ll go with wind and earth. They’re completely different attributes, so it might fail, but we’ll see.
First, I took a sword enhanced with wind magic and tried activating it. The blade then glowed a faint green.
「It’s glowing… Arcel-san told me how it works. If I’m not mistaken… Eii!」(Kako)
While remembering Arcel’s brief explanation, I tried to swing it. Somehow, it felt light and fast.

I tried to swing it again.
I’ve never practiced swinging a sword before but I could do it relatively easily thanks to this green aura.
A similar weapon of high quality might allow you to swing even faster. I think it’s useful to fight quick enemies.

This kind of wind magic weapon requires technique to use, but it will be a powerful weapon if you can master it.

Nyat dragged the mud-covered bear’s corpse toward the river and started cleaning and skinning it.

Nyat took out something from the bear’s dead body and showed it to me.
