「Yo, sorry to have kept you waiting.」(Guild Master)
「It’s fine. Thank you for the tea, by the way.」(Ingrid)
The man, who seemed to be the guild master, closed the door and sat on the sofa, facing Ingrid and Elle.
「It’s been a long time since the last time I saw your face. Never thought I would see you again here, Miss Black Gale.」(Guild Master)
「Oh, come on. Don’t call me that. It’s embarrassing…」(Ingrid)
「Miss… Black Gale?」(Elle)
Elle tilted her head and muttered when she heard the guild master call Ingrid with that name.
Ingrid explained while scratching her cheek with her index finger, shyly.
「That’s… my nickname when I was an adventurer…」(Ingrid)
「I didn’t know you had a nickname. That’s amazing!」(Elle)
Only capable adventurers who had achieved remarkable accomplishments had nicknames, and Ingrid seemed to be one of them.
However, she didn’t seem so happy with her nickname.
「Amazing, huh? It’s kinda embarrassing, you know?」(Ingrid)
「Is that so? But “Black Gale” sounds cool to me.」(Elle)
「You think so…?」(Ingrid)
「Un!」(Elle)
Seeing Elle smile as she replied to her, Ingrid started thinking that perhaps her nickname wasn’t so bad.
「Hahaha! Looks like your young companion has a great sense for names! Would you introduce her to me?」(Guild Master)
「She is Elle, my friend and business partner.」(Ingrid)
「It’s nice to meet you, Sir.」(Elle)
As Ingrid introduced her, Elle lowered her head to the guild master.
「Elle-kun, I see. I can see that she’s your friend, but what do you mean by business partner?」(Guild Master)
「As you know, I’m currently working as a magic tool engineer, and I need good magic stones to do my job. Elle may be young, but she’s a talented magic stone enchanter. She makes excellent magic stones.」(Ingrid)

Listening to Ingrid and the guild master complimenting her, Elle blushed a bit.
「It’s all thanks to her that we managed to defeat the black wyvern and come back unscathed.」(Ingrid)

Ingrid told the guild master what happened. She explained why the black wyvern attacked her and Elle, and how they managed to survive its dark breath and eventually kill it.

「You see, I have arrows enchanted with defensive spells, but that black wyvern breathed out miasma, which can only be dealt with light magic. A dark elf like me can’t use light magic, so that’s where Elle’s light fairies came to the rescue.」(Ingrid)
「I see…」(Guild Master)
While folding his arms, the guild master glanced at Elle with curiosity.
It wasn’t rare for magicians to make contracts with fairies, but only the most skillful ones like Moritz could actually do that.

「Yeah, I can split your performance value and relocate half of it to Elle-kun, but to do so, she has to be registered as an adventurer first.」(Guild Master)
「Wait… What?」(Ingrid)
「You know the rules, don’t you? You can only share performance value with other adventurers in the same party. Even if you kill a monster with someone’s help, if they’re just a common person, you can’t share your performance value with them.」(Guild Master)

Hearing those words, the guild master glared at Ingrid.
Ingrid forgot that she was in the presence of the person who didn’t want to hear those words the most.

Trying to avoid the guild master’s eyes, Ingrid panickedly returned her gaze to Elle.

Now that Elle had decided, the guild master clapped his hands twice, and soon after, the female employee, who had brought the tea and snack earlier, came in.
「Bring me an application form and a new guild card.」(Guild Master)
「Right away, Sir.」(female employee)
After nodding to the guild master, she left and returned with a piece of paper and a wooden card, and then put them on the table.
「Elle-kun, can you write?」(Guild Master)
「Yes, I can.」(Elle)
「As expected. Most children in this country can’t even read. You’re truly a genius.」(Guild Master)
「Thank you, Sir.」(Elle)
After complimenting Elle, the guild master took a pen from his breast pocket and handed it to Elle.
Elle then filled in her name, age, and race, but she stopped when she saw the last field.
「”Class”…? What does it mean?」(Elle)
「It’s something like a role that specifies your fighting style, skills, and abilities as an adventurer. For example, my class is a Magick Archer because I’m using a magic bow and arrows that have been enchanted with spells.」(Ingrid)

「Since you use magic stones to fight, how about “Lithomancer”?」(Ingrid)

After she completed the application form, Elle returned the pen to the guild master. The guild master then explained the next step.
First, Elle had to make a small cut on her finger and pressed it against the paper, leaving her blood fingerprint on it.
After that, the guild master put the blank wooden card on the paper, and then a glowing small magic circle appeared above the card. It was visible for a few seconds and disappeared.
Soon after, letters started appearing on the wooden card, indicating that the guild card had been activated.

「There you go. This is your adventurer guild card. It can show letters made of magical light on the surface. You can find useful information for your job as an adventurer such as bounties and quests. Don’t lose it, okay?」(Guild Master)
「Thank you, Sir!」(Elle)
「As for your reward, it should be transferred to you now.」(Guild Master)
As soon as the guild master said that, the letters showing on Elle’s guild card changed from her personal data to a notice saying that she had received 25 gold coins as the reward for defeating the black wyvern.
The reward was 50 gold coins, but she only received half of it because the performance value was split between her and Ingrid.
「You can withdraw your money at the guild receptionist or merchants who are affiliated with the Adventurer Guild.」(Guild Master)
「That’s so convenient. This card is amazing!」(Elle)
「Haha! I know, right? As for you, Miss Black Gale, you should be receiving the notice soon.」(Guild Master)
Ingrid took out her guild card and saw a notice that her promotion had been revoked and her rank returned to the rank of Quatre.
She then let out a sigh of relief.

「Honestly, it would make me happy if you came back and worked as a Trois.」(Guild Master)
「Nah, no thanks.」(Ingrid)
「Hahh, that’s too bad. But I respect your decision. Anyway, Elle-kun, welcome to the Adventurer Guild.」(Guild Master)
「Thank you, Sir. But, umm… I probably won’t be completing the quests from the guild very often.」(Elle)
「Haha! No problem. You can take it easy. But when you want to make a good sum of money, don’t hesitate to take a mission or two. We’ll reward you fairly.」(Guild Master)
「I will keep that in mind.」(Elle)
Elle and the guild master then shook hands.
Just like that, Elle had never expected it, but she had become an adventurer.
At the same time, Ingrid was freed from the responsibility of working as a Trois-ranked adventurer.
After they finished their business in the adventurer guild, Elle and Ingrid left the building and continued their journey.
