Chapter 4-24 : Heraldic Officers Are Coming! (part 2)

 

「C, Chloe ojou-chan… Mylia ojou-chan…!?」(priest)

「Father… It’s been a while.」(Chloe)

The priest was shocked at first but then he shed tears as if he had been longing for this moment for a long time.

He stroked Chloe and Mylia’s heads and hugged them.

「Oh, praise Goddess Celis! I thought you would never come back…」(priest)

「I thought so too, but we came because we need your cooperation.」(Chloe)

The priest let go of the two and looked at them with a puzzled face.

「My cooperation…?」(priest)

「Yes. But before that, Father, how are you doing? You don’t seem good. Do you have any problems with your health?」(Chloe)

Chloe asked the priest worriedly. She had been helping him with various things when she lived at the mansion, but she had no longer been able to do it since she left for the Royal Girls’ Academy.

「Yes. She’s been hiding it from anyone else but I think you need to know about it…」(Chloe)

Divorcement was something that only could be done by the church’s recognition.

Therefore, Chloe told everything about the relationship between Bonnie and Alex to the priest. She told him how Alex had been treating Bonnie, and how Bonnie took all the ill-treatment from Alex in order to protect her and Mylia.

As expected, the priest was shocked. He frowned and sighed.

「I see… That’s horrible… Oh, Celis-sama, please send your blessings upon her…」(priest)

「So, Father, as the priest of the Atwood Territory, would you acknowledge their divorce and issue a divorce certificate? We need it so that Mylia can officially adopt Bonnie onee-sama as her daughter.」(Chloe)

「Hmm… Actually, the Celis Church doesn’t formally recognize divorce. In the eyes of Goddess Celis, marriage is a lifelong bond. Therefore, divorce is considered an offense against her natural order. However, it’s not that Celis-sama forbids it completely.」(priest)

「…I understand. I will acknowledge it. After all, I don’t want Bonnie-sama to suffer any longer either.」(priest)

「I can issue the divorce certificate. However, to officially complete the procedure, other than Bonnie-sama and Alex-sama’s signatures, we also need their parents’ signatures. After all, it was their parents who bonded them together.」(priest)

Mylia nodded to Chloe and took out a letter from her magic bag. It was the letter she got from Duke Griffith.

The priest went back to his room and started making the certificate.

About thirty minutes later, the priest came out of his room and handed Mylia a piece of paper with a stamp of Celis Church’s crest and his signature.

「Thank you, Father!」(Mylia)

「No problem.」(priest)

Mylia then took out a pen from her magic bag and signed it as the foster parent of Bonnie.

「Mylia, you don’t know where the Morgan Family lives, do you? Take out your map. I’ll show you where it is.」(Chloe)

Mylia nodded and took out a map from her magic bag.

Chloe then spread the map and pointed her index finger at a region not too far from the Atwood Territory.

「It’s here. Please be careful.」(Chloe)

「Un! I’ll be right back!」(Mylia)

After marking the location on the map, Mylia slid the map and the certificate into her magic bag.

She then teleported to the sky above the Atwood Family mansion and then flew from there, heading for the Morgan Family’s territory.

By the way, the priest was taken aback when Mylia suddenly disappeared.

After flying for about an hour, Mylia reached the region that the Morgan Family governs.

The Morgan Family was a knight house just like the Atwood Family, but they were much richer than the Atwood Family.

Mylia landed in front of the entrance of the mansion and knocked on it.

Not long after, a woman with a face that resembles Alex’s came out. She seemed to be his mother.

Noticing the Dragon Slayer emblem on Mylia’s chest, the woman recognized Mylia right away.

「P, Please come in! I will call my husband for you.」(Lady Morgan)

The woman guided Mylia to the living room and left to bring her husband.

Soon after, a man that had a similar look to Alex appeared.

Lord Morgan and Lady Morgan did nothing wrong, but they made Mylia a bit irritated with their faces.

「Welcome, Lady Mylia. I’ve heard rumors about you, and I’m happy to be a relative of someone as great as you.」(Lord Morgan)

Lord Morgan seemed happy to be a relative of the rumored Dragon Slayer. After all, having a relationship with great people was an honor in an aristocratic society.

However, he didn’t realize that his relationship with Mylia would be soon over when Bonnie officially divorces Alex.

Mylia nodded and started explaining how shameful Alex was as a person to his both parents. She told them how Alex had been treating Bonnie. She also told them how Alex almost raped her and her older sisters, Chloe and Jasmine.

Both Lord and Lady Morgan were shocked. They didn’t seem to know that their son was such a disgrace.

Seeing Mylia’s suffering yet serious face as she explained, Lord Morgan didn’t think that she was lying.

「Unbelievable… That piece of shitt!! I had been wondering why it was very difficult to convince him to get married, but… Now I know the reason… I can’t believe my son was such a disgraceful human being…」(Lord Morgan)

「Dear, what are we going to do…?」(Lady Morgan)

「Well, we have no choice… Lady Mylia, I understand. I will sign the certificate, and I promise you I will punish that useless son of mine for you when he comes back. I’m deeply sorry for what he has done to you and your older sisters…」(Lord Morgan)

After getting Lord Morgan and Lady Morgan’s signatures, Mylia returned to the church.

「I’m back~」(Mylia)

「Welcome back, Mylia.」(Chloe)

「Onee-chan, I got his parents’ signatures.」(Mylia)

Saying that, Mylia took out the certificate from her magic bag and handed it to Chloe.

「That’s great! Good work, Mylia! I’ll sign it too as a baronet and as Bonnie onee-sama’s sister just in case.」(Chloe)

Chloe took a pen from her breast pocket and signed the certificate as well.

「Do you think Bonnie onee-sama will be happy with this?」(Mylia)

「Ah, before going home, I want to go to Master’s house!」(Mylia)

「We’ll see you again next time, Father!」(Mylia)

Chloe and Mylia waved at the priest and then teleported away, leaving the church.

However, they didn’t go back to the royal capital right away, but they went to Titania’s house first because Mylia promised Titania to watch a ‘movie’ together.

A movie with the title of “The End Of The Atwood Family”.
