Chapter 3-3 : Sudden News

「Hey, Mylia…」(Chloe)

「Hm?」(Mylia)

Chloe pulled Mylia’s sleeve, moved her face closer to Mylia’s ear, and whispered to her.

「It’s better if you don’t show that bundle of invoices in front of other people, especially those who have connections with aristocrats. They might think that you borrowed a lot of money. It’s the same as giving them free information, you know?」(Chloe)

「Aah… I’m sorry. I’ll be careful next time…」(Mylia)

「It’s okay. I’m just worried about you.」(Chloe)

「Thank you, Onee-chan…」(Mylia)

Chloe moved her face away from Mylia and patted Mylia’s head.

Chloe had been living in the royal capital for two years, so she knew very well that the information network of aristocratic society couldn’t be underestimated.

After waiting for a moment for the two to end their secret conversation, the manager smiled at Mylia.

「I couldn’t believe that I would meet the rumored Dragon Slayer in my store like this. I never thought that the Dragon Slayer was a young and beautiful lady like you.」(Ghedel)

(Young, beautiful lady, huh…? It’s kinda embarrassing…)

Actually, the manager wanted to say “cute”, but now that he knew that Mylia was a baron, he changed it to “young and beautiful” to show respect.

Thinking that explaining would be troublesome, Mylia took out one of her Dragon Slayer emblems from her magic bag and showed it to the manager.

「Hoo… Actually, this is the second time I’ve seen this emblem. Thank you for showing this to me.」(Ghedel)

「Don’t worry about it. You might think that a little girl like me couldn’t be a Dragon Slayer, so I showed you this just to make you believe.」(Mylia)

「What are you talking about? I didn’t doubt you. You look like a lovely lady with a very promising future to me.」(Ghedel)

「R-Right!? I totally agree with you, Sir! She has a promising future. After all, Mylia is super cute! She’s as pretty as an Aqua Sophia blooming gorgeously in sparkling seawater and as beautiful as a crescent moon shining gorgeously in the night!」(Chloe)

For some reason, Chloe started to think that Ghedel wasn’t a bad person at all.

「You’re right. Mylia-san is a lovely lady with a heart as pure as the driven snow!」(Aria)

「G-Geez… You two are flattering me too much… But thank you, ehehe~」(Mylia)

While scratching her cheek with her index finger, Mylia smiled shyly as her face turned a bit red.

After that, she took out a letter with the queen’s signature that proves that she was a baron and showed it to the manager.

It was written in a magical parchment that couldn’t be faked, and it contained a seal of the royal family.

「I hope this can also prove that I’m a baron.」(Mylia)

「I see…」(Ghedel)

Thinking that Queen Kushana was a person who really appreciates people’s hard work, Ghedel was convinced that Mylia’s baron title was a gift from the queen for defeating dragons.

「So, Baron Atwoodー」(Ghedel)

「ーAh, please just call me Mylia. Somehow my back feels itchy when someone calls me that…」(Mylia)

「Understood. So, Lady Mylia, is there anything I can do to help regarding this invoice?」(Ghedel)

「Yes, I want to ask you something… This invoice is addressed to me but… Is it true that the name of the person who bought these items is Robin de la Atwood…?」(Mylia)

When Mylia asked that, Chloe swallowed her saliva. They both looked nervous.

「Yes. She also said that Mylia de la Atwood is her sister.」(Ghedel)

「ーー!」(Mylia)

「Khh…!」(Chloe)

Mylia and Chloe’s bodies stiffened at the same time.

They really didn’t want to hear such an answer. They wished that the manager was lying and Robin wasn’t really in the royal capital.

「Umm… Was that person an arrogant-looking woman with long black hair? The way she talks is probably like… “I want something expensive that suits a beautiful noble-born lady like me! Ooohohoho~!”」(Mylia)

Mylia explained how Robin looked while imitating her.

Actually, she was quite good at it.

Seeing Mylia imitate Robin, Aria giggled. She found it funny. Meanwhile, Chloe nodded several times as if approving of Mylia’s impersonation.

「Ah, yes. She looked exactly like that.」(Ghedel)

「I, I see…」(Mylia)

(Gaaahhh! It’s really Robin! She’s really in this city!!!)

When Mylia shouted in her mind while holding her head, Chloe tried to stay calm. She leaned forward and looked at the manager.

「Sir, I’m sorry for the late introduction. My name is Baronet Chloe de la Atwood. Just like my little sister, I just received this title from the queen recently.」(Chloe)

「So you both are nobles? That’s quite amazing.」(Ghedel)

「I’m aware that you might not believe it. I can’t prove myself right now because I didn’t bring the letter from the queen. I can show you later if you want.」(Chloe)

「No, you don’t have to. There’s no way I don’t believe you after knowing that even a young lady like Lady Mylia could become a baron.」(Ghedel)

「Thank you.」(Chloe)

As she said that, Chloe fixed her posture as calmly as possible.

「Anyway, there’s something I want to ask… Why did you approve this invoice payment? Approving it without letting Mylia know in advance is just ridiculous.」(Chloe)

「Eh…? So you haven’t heard anything from Miss Robin…?」(Ghedel)

「Hm…?」(Chloe)

Ghedel was surprised for some reason.

Mylia and Chloe looked at each other with confused faces, and then they turned their faces toward Ghedel.

「No, we heard nothing. We didn’t even know that she came to this city.」(Chloe)

「Is that so…? Actually, Miss Robin said that her sister, Jasmine de la Atwood, would hold an engagement party soon. Miss Robin came to this store and bought jewelry on her behalf. I believe she said that Miss Jasmine’s engagement partner is from the Darelias Family.」(Ghedel)

「Jasmine onee-sama’s engagement party…? Is she going to get married…?」(Mylia)

「No way… Jasmine onee-sama…」(Chloe)

Mylia and Chloe were confused by the sudden news.

  1. Now that’s kinda much more complicated because THAT insist buying those things with Jasmine as an excuse.
Yea just hunt THAT asap and report to Duke! Let the professional take care of it.
Heck i think Granma will also take her turn as well.

  2. Should’ve made that “Shut Up” spell permanent. Every word she says is just another fire for someone to put out.
