Chapter 3-18 : Confronting The Muscle-Brain (part 2)

NYAAAAー!

「Guhaaa!!!」(Aaron)

Blood sprouted out of his nose as his body flipped backward in the air one and a half times, and then he fell and smashed his face on the floor.

「K…Khh….」(Aaron)

Aaron, who didn’t expect the counterattack, could only groan in pain while lying face down on the floor.

As the threat was gone, the cat faded away.

「Fa, Father, are you alright!? Mylia-chan, I can’t believe you would do something terrible like that to your father…」(Alex)

Alex approached Aaron and looked up at Mylia.

After looking Mylia in the eye for a second, he then tried to glance up Jasmine and Mylia’s skirts.

(This perverted man…!)

However, Mylia realized that and immediately cast her paralyze spell on his eyes before he could see their underwear.

「Eh? M, My eyes… I can’t move my eyes…!!」(Alex)

Alex was confused but he still tried to peek into their skirts by bending his neck.

(Just how much does this man want to see our panties!?)

Mylia then swiftly activated her Wasabi Magic.

A tube-shaped container appeared out of nowhere in the air over Alex’s face, and then wasabi powder started pouring out of it.

The powder fell into Alex’s nostrils and paralyzed eyes.

「GuAaaAaaAAaaAAA!!! What is this!? My eyes! My throat!!!」(Alex)

The wasabi powder burned his eyes, nose, throat, and lungs.

Alex held his face with his hands and started rolling violently on the floor while screaming in agony.

Mylia was happy that she finally got the opportunity to use her Wasabi Magic on someone.

(Nice. Now they’re both down!)

As soon as Mylia thought so, Aaron started moving.

He pushed the floor with his hands, trying to get up.

(Hee… I’m surprised he can still move after receiving the cat’s punch.)

「Mylia…! I’m the head of this family! You won’t get away with this!」(Aaron)

「You can say that to the floor.」(Mylia)

Before Aaron could get up, Mylia cast her paralyze spell on him.

「Khh! I can’t move!! What the hell is happening!? What did you do to me!?」(Aaron)

Aaron’s trained body was strong, however, no matter how strong he was, he would never be able to break Mylia’s paralyze spell with his own power.

「Hnnggg…!」(Aaron)

Aaron’s face turned red. He seemed to try to move his body with all of his might, but still, he couldn’t even move his fingers.

「Mylia, I can’t believe you can make Father so powerless… Your magic is so powerful!」(Jasmine)

Jasmine muttered in awe.

She could barely see what happened because of her poor eyesight but she could tell that Aaron was stuck on the floor.

「I see, so this is your magic! Why did you never help me hunt with this powerful magic!? You’re such a useless piece of shit!」(Aaron)

(Does he ever think about anything other than hunting?)

Mylia glared down at Aaron with disgust.

「Watch your mouth! I’m a Baron! If you have complains, you can find me in the royal capital. Anyway, I’m taking Jasmine onee-sama with me!」(Mylia)

After saying that, Mylia immediately flew over those men and headed to the front door.

「Wait! Mylia-chan, please help usー!」(Alex)

「Myliaaaaaa! I’ll never forget this!」(Aaron)

Mylia could hear their shouts but she completely ignored them.

Mylia and Jasmine passed through the front door and flew into the sky.

Now they could no longer hear Aaron and Alex’s voices. All they heard was the sound of the wind.

When they looked up, they could see the blue sky and white clouds, and when they looked down, they could see the scenery of the Atwood territory.

After flying for several minutes, Jasmine finally got used to it.

She couldn’t see the scenery clearly, and because of that, she wasn’t afraid of heights.

「Mylia, is everything going to be okay? Father seemed very angry…」(Jasmine)

「Jasmine onee-sama, you’re free now. You should forget about him. Also, you need to take a deep breath and exhale to cleanse your lungs after inhaling the filthy air in that mansion for a long time.」(Mylia)

「Eh? O, Okay… *Inhaling and exhaling* Suuu… Haaa…. Suuu… Haaa…..」(Jasmine)

「Yes, yes. Like that.」(Mylia)

While smiling, Mylia watched Jasmine breathing.

They were flying while hugging each other, so Jasmine’s hair overlapped with Mylia’s hair.

(We have the same hair color… I feel like we’re twins…)

Mylia was very happy to have another older sister who cared about her.

「Suu… Haa… Suu… Haa…」(Jasmine)

Mylia’s heart felt warm. She pressed her face against Jasmine’s chest as Jasmine took a deep breath.

Jasmine’s breasts were not as big as Chloe’s but they were soft, warm, and had a gentle lavender smell.

「Mylia, what’s wrong?」(Jasmine)

「Hehe, nothing~」(Mylia)

Mylia raised her face and smiled at Jasmine.

Jasmine looked at Mylia’s face with her big eyes behind her long bangs and returned her smile.

「Mylia… Thank you for saving me…」(Jasmine)

「Jasmine onee-sama… Un! No problem!」(Mylia)

While still holding Mylia’s waist with both arms, Jasmine looked at the blue sky.

「Aaahh… I never knew the wind could feel this comfortable.」(Jasmine)

「I’m sure it’s because you’re free now.」(Mylia)

「You may be right.」(Jasmine)

「By the way, Jasmine onee-sama, you sounded like a poetess just now! You seemed like a person who really felt the flow of the wind. For a second, I thought you would say, “Upon the sadness all smeared up~”.」(Mylia)

*/TL : I think Mylia was talking about a poem entitled “Yogorechimatta Kanashimi Ni” / “Upon The Sadness All Smeared Up” by Nakahara Chuuya.

「Umm… I don’t know what you’re talking about… But, Mylia, you are really different from the absent-minded Mylia I know.」(Jasmine)

「Ah, I’m sorry if I make you uncomfortable…」(Mylia)

「No, no. I like the cheerful Mylia more.」(Jasmine)

「Really!?」(Mylia)

「Of course. You’re easier to talk to than when you acted like an absent-minded girl. Also, I like your cheerful voice.」(Jasmine)

「Hehe~ Thank you, Jasmine onee-sama!」(Mylia)

(Ahh… I’m healed… Just like Chloe onee-chan and Aria-san, Jasmine onee-sama has a healing power too… This is amazing!)

Mylia looked at Jasmine who smiled gently at her.

(If I didn’t save her, I would have never seen this lovely smile of hers…)

「Jasmine onee-sama, you know, acting like an absent-minded girl is really tiring.」(Mylia)

「Is that so?」(Jasmine)

「Yeah, I have to keep my face like this. Aaaa………. All the time, and it makes my face stiff.」(Mylia)

Mylia showed her expressionless face as she said that.

「Then you really did a great job maintaining that face for a long time.」(Jasmine)

「Did I? Honestly, I don’t wanna do it again though.」(Mylia)

「Fufufu…!」(Jasmine)

(Aa! Jasmine onee-sama is laughing!)

Seeing Jasmine’s laughing face, Mylia couldn’t hold her laughter.

「Hahaha!」(Mylia)

While flying through the refreshing wind, the two siblings were happily laughing together.

  1. The author wimped out by not having Mylia’s mother there. I guess it would be terrible if Mylia punished her mother for not sending her to Disneyland, styling like the Kardashians, or providing exactly equal portions of food despite Mylia lazing about all day long. Mylia isn’t blameless.

    1. Idk if I agree with you on that…

For one, she only attacked out of self defense really (except for maybe Alex, but you know… it is Alex.) And also, she was their child, not their slave. Why does an 8 year old need to work hard or starve? Even if the family is poor, that family literally treats all of its children like property. They only have value if they can work, if not, sell them off to a perverted old man with over 30 wives?

No, it isn’t that she wasn’t treated like a princess, it was that she was treated like an object to be used rather than their child…

    2. Can’t really agree with that. Did anything really changed after she started to bring salt rocks? Aside from mother who hid some of that to make dishes for all of them (not only Mylia) better – no. They took it for granted, and treated her the same. Also, if we are bringing the profit that those daughters bring to the family by labour – Mylia would be the number 1 with just the profit from those rocks.
      So, no.
Also, mother is strange too. I understand that she can’t go against her husband, she will completely obey him. Ok, it’s ingrained, and might not really wrong in their situation and world. But why the heck she can’t put useless Robin in her place. Robin is the reason of declining reputation of their family, and difficulties of marriages. Robin has no points of authority over her mother, but mother has over the Robin. So why Robin openly beat the shit out of other sisters right in front of her, and mother choose to ignore it? Mother only moves if someone outside of family is involved and can harm their stability.
Should i also bring up the point that their daughters for them is “commodity” to trade, without considering whether they live or die afterwards. Just to complete the picture, you know…
She wouldn’t fake absentmindness if it would be a normal family in the first place. But no! Chloe was perfectly beautiful, clever, and able to work. What did it gave her? She was barely able to escape that hell by scrapping petty change for 3 years in secret, since otherwise, she would be completely stripped from that petty change too, and sold to the pig as thirty-something’th wife for the “right to hunt in the forest”. What the hell?

      1. Yeah, basically my thoughts, just worded better… and corrects what I said earlier. Because yeah… they didn’t even care about how hard a worker their children are. Basically just selling their own children into slavery with extra steps for hunting rights or more say among the villagers….

And why does nearly every character not want to address Alex despite knowing what is going on! In the first few chapters, Mylia said that he has gone even further than trying to look up a preteens skirt…

It is no wonder Mylia freezes up into that blank state of hers whenever she sees Robin and Aaron despite having far more power than them…

        1. When it comes to Alex, i think that they feel guilty about bringing him as son-in-law, while his wife turned out to be “unable to conceive”. So they would ignore some weak harassment, until it devolve in actual rape attempt.

          1. Robin seems like the favorite spoiled child. (Aka the golden child that a narcissist will unfairly favor while constantly berating or abusing the rest) Aside from her habits probably picked up from her father, (eg the violence) she immediately gets to halfassed scheming if she wants something but an authority gets in her way. Eg sneaking around to cheat on her ex husband, using Mylia’s name for fraud, the trickery involved to get a new husband.
It’s all the same basic behavior she repeatedly exhibits, but if her father isn’t stopping her from doing anything, that leaves the mother attempting to curb her “personality” as the biggest suspect for where she’d learn to go behind people’s backs in the first place.
The father is out hunting most of the day, so the likely scenario is probably Robin being told no, then sneaking behind her mother’s back to do it since by the time her mom finds out, the father is home that doesn’t give a damn or rewards the errant behavior.
The rest of the cast aren’t as bad because the father isn’t undermining her as he doesn’t give a damn about the rest and they can meet more positive influences outside the house. Not saying she did a great job, but managing to make 3 kids that aren’t screwed up in that environment is a miracle.

      2. You are right about that, and remember that the setting of this story is somewhat middle-age or socalled age of knights, salt is expensive in that age, like pepper is comparable to gold in the exploration age

      3. I think the mother did do something about Robin. But consider Robin’s personality, she might have gave up educating her and let Robin do as she please.

      4. 5. Mylia actually wanted to return the favor to her mother. But she changed her mind when she found out her father was to going sell her to an ugly bastard baron and her mother felt okay about it. It’s so terrible. How can she as a mother be happy to see her cute daughter being sold to an ugly bastard baron in the name of a ‘political marriage’?

    3. That’s a bit too much. She didn’t do any house work but she did give Rock Salt (a precious commodity) at designated times till her father stabbed her in the back and her mother just stood there. Her living with him in the village while her daughters partying up in the royal capital without visiting her even once is punishment enough. Even in this case, she didn’t attack her father and Alex intentionally. They came to attack her and she just retaliated in self defence. Wish Bonnie gets away from that house as well. She would become like her mother if she stayed like that. And ask the chores the sisters didr will fall on her now that they got away.

    1. I don’t think she can, or it would be already mentioned. But she will probably either start to develop new magic to heal them (since she didn’t think about it before, but now have clear objective), or most probably bring the matters to that ghost-scientist in academy (he for sure knows quite a few recipes for secret medicines), or her master, since elves have high probablity having one or two panaceyas in their hidden stash 😀

    2. I’m not sure about it but since she isn’t completely blind maybe buy her glases? I mean wasn’t there one or two characters that already had them (“evil” teacher and “battle maniac” court mage)? and if not she still has her knolege of her old world so I am prety sure she can at least explain what glases do and have someone (gost, her master or the development department) make them for her. She only needs to have the idea or remember.

  2. Yay, Jasmine is safe now! Please let there be happy fun times again with Aria and Chloe all over again next chapter.

  3. Itd be nice if she was a bit more vulgar and combative to both of them… wasabi and petrification feel extremely mild compared to their sins.

  4. Uhmm. Sorry but.. U call that confrontation?
I mean there’s a BIG opportunity right there to pour out everything that she has to say for all those years and she chose to speak out just in her inner mind. 🙄
There was a big opportunity there to confront her own trauma.

Anyways I guess thats Japanese novel/manga logic for you….

    1. That’s not how you confront your traumas. Do you even know how difficult it is to overcome traumas? Go read the DSM-IV and DSM-V.
