Chapter 2-17 : Controlling The Gravity

「Put me down quickly!」(Diana)

「I-I’m sorry, Diana-san!」(Mylia)

Mylia looked up and tried to cancel her gravity magic.

The surrounding students and teachers were taken aback and couldn’t react, but Chloe, who was accustomed to Mylia’s actions, immediately stopped her.

「Mylia, wait! You need to calm down!」(Chloe)

Chloe quickly reached Mylia and put her hand on Mylia’s shoulder from behind.

「Onee-chan?」(Mylia)

「If you cease your magic, Diana will fall and her butt will hit the ground really hard. That would be interesting to watch, but it would be bad if she got injured.」(Chloe)

「Aa! You’re right!」(Mylia)

Mylia regained her composure after listening to Chloe. She then calmed herself down and tried to grasp the situation.

「What are you waiting for!? Put me down already!」(Diana)

Diana began to get impatient now that the surrounding people were looking at her.

She always showed her appeal as a daughter of a duke, but she was without doubt a beautiful girl. Her existence was already prominent, and thanks to Mylia making her floating, she stood out even more.

(Aaahh! What have I done!? Because I used gravity magic, Aria-san looks really worried about her sister now… Alright, I need to calm down. First, I have to weaken the upward vector of my gravity magic and slowly lower Diana-san. I will leave the gravity on the left side of the banner as it is to keep the banner floating while I’m lowering Diana-san.)

Mylia raised her hands and began concentrating.

She started to weaken the gravity on the upper part of the banner little by little while maintaining the gravity on the left side.

「Good! Just don’t suddenly drop me!」(Diana)

「Don’t worry, I’ll bring you down slowly.」(Mylia)

Diana slowly descended as Mylia weakened her gravity magic.

At the same time, the banner slowly returned to a horizontal position.

「Finally… Thank you, Mylia-san…」(Aria)

Aria, who was in charge of maintaining the right side of the banner, could finally feel a little relieved.

She had a hard time pulling the banner to the right with her wind magic because Mylia lost control of her magical power and unconsciously pulled the banner too hard to the left and upward with her gravity magic.

For a moment, Aria looked like a magical girl who was desperately blocking the enemy’s attack with her magic shield in an anime.

「Un! No problem!」(Mylia)

Mylia replied as if she did a good thing. She didn’t realize that Aria had a hard time because of her.

Titania said that Mylia was not good at controlling her magical power, but actually thanks to her teaching, Mylia could even manipulate gravity magic which was said to be difficult to control. Of course, only if Mylia was concentrating hard enough.

「Diana-san, you’re almost there.」(Mylia)

「Be careful! If you hurt me, I’ll tell my father!」(Diana)

「O, Okay…」(Mylia)

Diana regained her composure as she approached the floor.

A few seconds later, the banner became perfectly horizontal and Diana landed safely.

「Well done, Mylia! Good girl, good girl!」(Chloe)

「Ehehe~ Thank you, Onee-chan.」(Mylia)

As Chloe patted Mylia’s head, the surrounding people started applauding.

Diana was about to approach Mylia and scold her, but she stopped and looked around while blinking heavily, wondering why people were applauding..

「Whoaa! She just used gravity magic!」
「Awesome! What a talented freshman!」
「That’s a Dragon Slayer for you!」
「I’m glad Diana-san landed safely.」
「Don’t you think Diana-san is unexpectedly cute?」
「Her twin sister is cute too!」
「I’ve never seen that banner floating so straight like this.」

(Eh…? No one is going to scold me? Really?)

Mylia also looked around while blinking, wondering why people were praising her instead of scolding her.

*/ Their expressions were like this

In the Magic Department, students who tried something new were usually praised. They would even receive star badges from Queen Kushana if they discovered a new spell.

Therefore, students in the Magic Department usually do experiments on a daily basis. However, keeping the banner floating with gravity magic was a new thing for them.

Experimenting with magic without making any mistakes was a difficult thing to do. Failure was like a natural part of students’ daily life in the Magic Department. Making people float in the air by accident was like a normal thing that happened several times a year.

After a while of keeping the banner floating, Aria was starting to look tired.

「Aria-san, are you okay?」(Mylia)

「Ugh… it looks like I’ve reached my limit…」(Aria)

Noticing Aria’s condition, two seniors who were waiting for their turn asked to pass the baton.

Aria and Mylia then obediently gave their positions to them.

「Aa-aah, if only they didn’t lose control of the banner at that moment, it would have been a new record…」(student)

A smart-looking student said that disappointedly while looking at the clock.

Apparently, the counting would stop when the banner wasn’t floating in a beautiful shape.

People’s attention was shifted to the seniors after Mylia and Aria switched places with them.

「Good job, both of you.」(Chloe)

「Thank you, Onee-chan!」(Mylia)

「Geez… I never thought you would embarrass me like that. You did it on purpose, didn’t you!?」(Diana)

Now that Diana had a chance, she immediately scolded Mylia.

「N, No! The thing is, when I tried to support the upper part of the banner with gravity magic, for some reason the range of effect expanded downwards like fwooozhー and made Diana-san, who was unlucky to be right underneath the effect, float, hyuuungー like that as if you were in a spaceship. Ah! I forgot no one knows what a spaceship is! Ahaha…」(Mylia)

「………..You two, can you interpret it for me?」(Diana)

When Diana turned to Chloe and Violetta and asked that, they shook their heads with confused faces.

「Hahh… Why do you always make people confused with your explanations…?」(Aria)

Aria looked at Mylia with an amazed face while wiping the sweat on her face with a handkerchief.

「Aria-san… Did I give you a hard time when I pulled the banner too strongly…? I’m sorry…」(Mylia)

Mylia finally realized that Aria was tired mostly because of her.

「It’s okay. Failure is a common thing in magic. However, I think you need to get better at controlling your magical power. You also need to be more aware of your surroundings.」(Aria)

「Ahh… You’re right… I’m pretty clumsy after all…」(Mylia)

Mylia looked down, feeling depressed.

Instead of being clumsy, actually she just had too much magical power.

Controlling her tremendous amount of magical power was like carrying a huge basin full of water while trying not to drop even a single drop of water. It was really hard to do.

If Titania didn’t teach Mylia how to control her magical power, Mylia would have blown the banner away when she used wind magic.

Seeing Mylia depressed, Aria’s chest began to hurt for some reason..

「B-But I’m impressed that you can use gravity magic. I think that’s awesome.」(Aria)

Reflexively, Aria complimented Mylia to cheer her up.

But right after, she wondered why she wanted to cheer up her rival. She was at a loss and couldn’t grasp her own feelings well.

「I wish I could use gravity magic too…」(Aria)

「Ah! Then why don’t we practice together? As an apology for troubling you, I will teach you what I know!」(Mylia)

While thinking that it was a brilliant idea, Mylia smiled at Aria.

She felt bad for troubling Aria and her older sister, so she decided to practice controlling her magical power better so as not to trouble others anymore.

With that determination in mind, Mylia looked at Aria with sparkling eyes, waiting for her answer.

Chloe and Violetta were watching over them quietly with smiles, while Diana seemed to let her little sister decide.

「………」(Aria)

The words “No, thanks” popped into Aria’s mind, but she knew that Mylia would be sad if she refused, and she didn’t want that to happen.

Actually, she had no problem accepting it, but for some reason, she couldn’t bring herself to say yes.

She felt strangely embarrassed to accept Mylia’s offer, perhaps because she didn’t have friends her age and didn’t know how to deal with Mylia.

However, after thinking for a moment, Aria worked up the courage to answer.

「I, If you insist… I don’t mind… practicing magic with you…」(Aria)

While saying that haltingly, somehow she felt her cheeks were getting hot.

「Really!? Yaayy!」(Mylia)

Mylia jumped in joy.

She was grateful to Aria for her kindness and began to like Aria even more. She thought that Aria was a really nice girl.

「Chloe onee-chan, Aria-san says she wants to practice magic with me! I’m so happy!」(Mylia)

Mylia was so happy that she pulled Chloe’s uniform as she gave her report.

Being pulled by Mylia, Chloe looked troubled at first, but after seeing Mylia’s smile, Chloe couldn’t help but smile too.

「Fufu, I’m glad for you. Get along with her, okay?」(Chloe)

「Un! Thank you, Onee-chan!」(Mylia)

(I made a mistake, but thanks to that, I get to practice with Aria-san! Aaahh~ This is awesome! I hope we can be good friends!)

「Aria-san, let’s practice together next time! It’s a promise!」(Mylia)

「A, Alright…」(Aria)

Aria nodded as she turned her blushing face away.

Diana, who had been watching over them, smirked for some reason.

「Khu khu khu, good job, Aria. Now you have a chance to steal this girl’s technique and knowledge! And you, Dragon Slayer. I admit that you can use gravity magic, but now that you have said that you will teach my precious little sister your magic, you have the duty to teach her all you know! If you do, I will forget about this incident.」(Diana)

「Un! Diana-san, thank you! You’re very kind! Here, I’ll give you Dabola meat!」(Mylia)

Mylia thought Diana was also a nice person. As expected from Aria’s older sister, she thought.

Mylia took one skewer of grilled Dabola meat from her magic bag and offered it to Diana.

Diana was a bit surprised when Mylia took out Dabola meat all of a sudden. Diana was a gourmet, so she knew how precious Dabola meat was.

After confirming that it was really Dabola meat, Diana took it from Mylia’s hand and elegantly ate it.

「……Hahh… I really don’t know how to deal with this girl…」(Diana)

Diana made a bitter look while eating, but she actually thought that it was very good.

Chloe was happy as long as Mylia was happy, but she was planning to strictly tell Mylia not to teach weird things to Aria later.

「Chloe x Diana is interesting, but… Mylia-chan x Aria-chan is also not bad… Fufufu… I feel like this is gonna be more and more interesting~」(Violetta)

Violetta murmured to herself while resting her hand on her waist and rubbing her chin with the other hand. She looked like the person who had the most fun there.

「Vii, what’s wrong?」(Chloe)

「No, it’s nothing~」(Violetta)

At that momentー

「Mylia de la Atwood.」(?)

ーsomeone tapped Mylia’s shoulder from behind all of a sudden.

Mylia turned around and saw a female teacher who seemed to have a wild personality. She was the teacher who was supervising the second year students keeping the banner floating.

「You probably don’t know ‘cause you just enrolled, but there’s a penalty for troubling students from different departments, y’ know?」(wild teacher)

The female teacher smirked at Mylia.

It was said that success born of failure, but of course there would be penalties for the failures that caused trouble for other people.

「….Eh?」(Mylia)

Shocked by the teacher’s words, Mylia’s face turned pale.

(EEEEEHHHH!? A punishment!? I knew it! I thought it was weird that no one scolded me after all that!)

Diana and Violetta were dumbfounded while Chloe and Aria looked at Mylia and the teacher worriedly.

「If you dropped that Commerce Department girl, she might have been injured badly. Do you even realize that?」(teacher)

「Y, yes… I’m sorry…」(Mylia)

「As for your punishment, you will be cleaning up the flowerbeds in the front yard for a week. Got it?」(teacher)

「U, Understood… I will be doing it while reflecting on my mistakes…」(Mylia)

「Good, good. Now, stop looking so down like that. You should rejoice!」(teacher)

While tapping Mylia’s shoulder pretty hard, the teacher raised her voice.

「Dragon Slayer, you’re the first freshman to receive a penalty! You should be proud! Ah, by the way, we’ll confiscate a star badge after you receive five penalties, so keep that in mind. Wahahahahaha!」(teacher)

「I, I see… Ahaha…」(Mylia)

(Why am I laughing!? This is not a laughing matter! Aa-ahh….)

At that moment, Mylia vowed to herself to be really careful when using magic from now on.

  1. I can already tell that I’m not gonna like that wild teacher lady….. she’s definitely antagonistic towards our cute little Mylia and that simply won’t be tolerated!😤

      1. How is this a copy of shit potter? This serie has cute girls instead of a bunch of faggot kids and ugly girls.

  2. Mylia chan x arian chan.. this violetta girl is a yuri shipper and i don’t hate it hahaha! Btw, thank you for the chapter..

  3. My…. The bitters of Jealousy. Such antagonistic desire towards our child, Aris. Be careful, lady or you might become an ugly lemon spirit ah.

    1. *Mylia I mean. Not Aris. My apologies, Ive just woken up and seem to still be not fully within reality yet

    2. It’s not necessarily out of jealousy. It depends on how deep a level the author is creating a kingdom society for the story. If there is more than skin-deep depth, then the political and economic desires of the parents and nobles outside the school needs to be felt. Teachers can be influenced by those peoples into doing things to help certain students or hinder certain students.
